Scope

This dealership site and building accommodates approximately 1,500 vehicles and supports new and used car sales, 50 air conditioned service bays, 28 air conditioned collision center bays, and two standalone, quick lube bays. It is approximately 11 acres and the building has 355,000 square feet within four floors.

Description & Challenge

Given the extensive customer sales and service applications within, the building is long and rectilinear with a building face on each end. The collision center faces the secondary entrance road on one end and the showroom fronts the primary and strategic North/South Sawgrass Expressway artery.

Visible from both the interior and exterior, the showroom presents a dramatic display of cars floating on a narrow second floor slab that encircles it. The city of Tamarac was insistent that this large building structure include parking decks developed and designed to mask parking functions and blend in with the surrounding office buildings.
